Zavratnica: getting there & parking in Jablanac
For the coastal walk to Zavratnica, head to Jablanac, a small harbour on Croatia’s Velebit coast. A separate walking approach descends from Zavratnica village above the cove. Decide which route you want before setting your navigation: the village viewpoint and the seaside starting point are different places.
Choose your starting point
Set your map destination to Jablanac if you want the lower coastal path. After parking legally, continue on foot towards the cove. A map pin labelled only “Zavratnica” may lead towards the upper village; check the approach before following the final directions.
The upper route suits visitors prepared for a steeper walk. Its published elevation change is around 150 metres. If you descend to the water and return the same way, you also have that climb on the way back.

Use signed, permitted spaces at your chosen starting point and follow local payment instructions. We have not verified a dedicated visitor car park, a fixed parking tariff or guaranteed spaces in Jablanac. An entrance ticket is not a parking reservation.
Leave access clear for residents, deliveries and emergency vehicles. If spaces are full, do not use passing places or obstruct the road. Parking signs on the day take priority over old travel reports.
Plan the return as well
The walk begins after the drive. Allow time to reach the trail, explore and return before darkness. Carry water, use shoes with grip and check conditions before leaving the harbour. The Senj tourism link below can help you place the cove within a wider coastal visit.
